Cozy, Warming Beverages

It has been historically cold here in Arkansas and we have 9 inches of snow on the ground with more on the way. Below are a few beverages to help keep you warm during these cold days.

Golden Milk/Turmeric Latte

8 ounces of almond milk (or milk of your choice

1/4 tsp of ground turmeric

1/4 tsp of cinnamon

1/2 tsp of vanilla extract

1/4 tsp of ginger

1 tsp of maple syrup

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk constantly over gentle heat. Once hot, pour into your fave mug and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon. Enjoy!

Healing Tonic

1/2 inch of turmeric grated

1/2 inch of ginger grated

8 ounces of water

1 tsp of honey

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and heat for 3-5 minutes. Pour the mixture through a strainer into your mug. Enjoy!

Simple Coconut Latte

2 tbsp coconut oil

1 freshly brewed large espresso or small coffee

Melt the coconut oil in a small saucepan over medium heat until it is completely liquid. Transfer to a blender and add the hot expresso. Blend until emulsified. Pour into your mug. Enjoy!

Peppermint Mocha

1/2 cup of full-fat coconut milk

1-2 shots of espresso

1 tbsp of cacao powder

1 tsp maple syrup

1/4 tsp of peppermint extract

In a small saucepan, warm the coconut milk over med-high heat. Pour the warm milk into a blender and add the espresso, cacao, maple syrup and peppermint. Blend until the drink is mixed and frothy. Pour into your mug and enjoy!
